If you are looking for some lush greenery and serene weekend in the lap of nature, Martin’s Farm is where you should go, away from the hustle-bustle of the metropolis! The place provides a healthy and friendly atmosphere in which to share with your child the joys of nature. It is home to a range of domestic and agricultural animals like goats, donkeys, cows, chickens, rabbits, finches, emu, pigeons, and a host of other animals. Kaikondrahalli Lake

Kaikondrahalli Lake, spread over 48 acres on Sarjapur Road, is home to up to 70 species of migratory birds. For a lovely walk around the lake perimeter, the pathway is just perfect for morning persons. A variety of tall and short trees surround the lake, and its entrance has an enormous ficus tree that attracts many birds. In the centre of the water-body, there is a small island and a wooded area at one corner of the bank of the lake. The lake is fantastic all year round with numerous birds and insects each season and showcasing the rich urban biodiversity of Bengaluru city.

 

Hamsah Organic Farm

This 5-acre farm is a perfect place for you to enjoy a slice of rural life well within the city limits. Get to use a tiller, walk some cows and enjoy cooking some kale bajjis! Be sure to take part in the seasonal mango harvest. Over here, new things are constantly being sown, planted and reaped, making it a vibrant and engaging place to truly regain your roots. One Day Tour to Belur & Halebid

This weekend, you can go for a day trip with your family and friends to Belur, Halebid and Shravanabelagola. Explore the ancient temples of Chennakesava and Veeranarayana, and get to know the local stories about their rich history. And then head to the 12th century capital of the Hoysala Empire at Halebid. You will find a pair of ornate temples lined with exquisite stone carvings. Continue to Shravanabelagola to stand at the feet of the towering, 57-foot (17.5-meter) Gamateshwara Statue while coming back to Bangalore.

Shivanasamudra Falls & Ancient Somnathpur Temple

Enjoy the beauty of the Shivasamudra Waterfall surrounded by the lush green hill forests of the Kaveri Wildlife Sanctuary. Then after, you can enjoy a sumptuous lunch at a nearby restaurant and then head to the Temple of Chennakesava, also known as the Temple of Keshava. The temple has three carved pinnacles and shrines dedicated to Lord Janardhana, Venugopala and Kesava, and is constructed on a star-shaped base. Somnathpur is also famous for incense sticks, sandalwood oil and other handicrafts.
